The company, a subsidiary of the embattled Genesis Global Holdco, is targeting the liquidation of approximately $1.4 billion worth of Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) shares.According to a Feb. 2 court filing, Genesis and its debtor affiliates have declared that disposing of the shares is a critical step in maximizing estate value and efficiently managing its assets.

The major stock exchange Nasdaq announced on Feb. 2 that it has listed BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). Nasdaq said that BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF is now trading on its platform while an executive endorsed the fund’s various features. Nasdaq noted that the event was commemorated with a bell-ringing ceremony that included Kennedy and Cohen as speakers.

Grayscale’s Bitcoin Trust ETF (GBTC) also saw a significant net outflow of $182 million. In contrast, the collective net inflow for the remaining nine ETFs in the sector, excluding Grayscale, amounted to $220 million. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) outperformed Grayscale Investments’ GBTC in trading volume. This event marks a first for BlackRock since the introduction of spot Bitcoin ETFs in the U.S. on Jan. 11.

Bankrupt Genesis Global Holdco has agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission a year ago over a lending program. Genesis, which is a subsidiary of the Digital Currency Group, agreed to pay $21 million to the SEC to end that lawsuit, according to a filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York.
