2024-02-28 16:04:08 Next month, channel owners on Telegram can start receiving financial rewards from their work.

Broadcast channels on Telegram generate 1 trillion views monthly. Currently, only 10% of these views are monetized with Telegram Ads — a promotion tool designed with privacy in mind.

In March, the Telegram Ad Platform will officially open to all advertisers in nearly a hundred new countries. Channel owners in these countries will start receiving 50% of any revenue that Telegram makes from displaying ads in their channels.

To ensure ad payments and withdrawals are fast and secure, we will exclusively use the TON blockchain. Similar to our approach with Telegram usernames on Fragment, we will sell ads and share revenue with channel owners in Toncoin. This will create a virtuous circle, in which content creators will be able to either cash out their Toncoins — or reinvest them in promoting and upgrading their channels Open / Comment

One of the main purposes of TON Foundation is to support general ecosystem development by funding innovative projects and hosting different developer bounties. This leads to more services being built on TON and makes the blockchain more accessible for builders.

Grant Announcements

Out of 243 submissions, 18 exceptional projects have been chosen to receive a total of $350K in funding. These projects span various segments of the ecosystem, including GameFi, DeFi, and infrastructure improvements.

Some notable grant recipients include:

TonJump: As the first Web3 user-generated content game on Telegram, TonJump allows users to craft and share their own game maps. This integration of gaming with NFTs could significantly increase user engagement and demonstrates the flexibility of TON technology on Telegram.

DeDust.io: DeDust is creating a Mini App version of its DEX, narrowing the divide between TON’s DeFi services and Telegram's user base.

Xircus: This platform makes it easier to create and deploy Web3 applications, addressing a major challenge in blockchain development and encouraging creators to contribute to the TON Ecosystem.

Bounty Announcements

27 bounty tasks were completed last quarter, with $50K in rewards distributed. Noteworthy developments include native Python bindings for TON, which lower the entry barrier for Python developers, the provision of a Ruby SDK that expands accessibility to Ruby developers, and the design of a blockchain statistics page.

DAOLama, a pool-to-peer NFT lending protocol on TON, has launched a new feature allowing users to purchase NFTs at half their market price. This development is aimed at providing instant access to trust-less loans, enabling users to acquire digital assets with less money upfront.

How does it work?
The platform now offers the option for individuals to buy NFTs, like an Anonymous Number, for 68.16 TON when the floor price is 173 TON. The remaining balance of 106.3 TON can be settled within two weeks, with a minimal additional cost of 1.46 TON. Additionally, the payment for the purchased NFT can be completed within 28 days, with early repayment leading to a recalculated, possibly lower amount.

NFTs purchased via this option are stored in a smart contract, ensuring security and transparency. During this period, owners can sell the NFT with no commission, keeping all profits from any sale.
