Bitcoin is scheduled to have an upgrade. Bitcoin Taproot soft fork will optimize scalability, privacy, and smart contract functionality to the BTC network. By bringing about a new address type, the upgrade will allow users to save on transaction fees — the more congested the network conditions, the more the user will actually save. The Taproot upgrade will work in tandem with the Lightning Network – Bitcoin’s prior upgrade, which also helps to achieve many of the same benefits – to bring greater efficiency and lower transaction fees which have helped to entrench Bitcoin as a means of exchange and store of value.  Open / Comment
