Over the past week, virtual land in the metaverse dominated NFT sales.
As seen by the nonfungible token (NFT) and Metaverse sales numbers released this week, digital land is in high demand in an already lucrative sector.
Data from industry metrics platform NonFungible.com indicates that there has been more than $300 million in NFT sales over the past week. Of that total, almost a quarter has been for digital land in The Sandbox metaverse.
Metaverse is a virtual reality experience based on the internet that employs blockchain technology and a non-fungible currency (NFT) to pay for and own objects. When you buy anything in-game, for example, you actually own it and can keep, trade, or sell it.
