Have you heard of Blue Carbon?This term refers to the carbon captured by the world's marine and coastal ecosystems like sea grasses, mangroves, and salt marshes.
And why are these ecosystems so important? Despite being smaller compared to other carbon sequestering ecosystems, they are able to trap carbon faster and for longer periods of time.
The carbon found in these ecosystems is usually thousands of years old.
