2023-10-02 12:48:35 September is the biggest month for crypto exploits in 2023 with $330M in assets stolen

September has become the worst month in 2023 for crypto-related exploits — with around $329.8M in crypto stolen, according to CertiK. The most significant contributor to the month’s totals came from Mixin Network attack, which lost $200M due to a breach of its cloud service provider. Other significant incidents included the attacks on CoinEx exchange and betting platform Stake, resulting in losses of $53M and $41M. Meanwhile, the month also saw $1.9M lost to exit scams, $400k to flash loan attacks and another $25M to phishing attacks.

September’s attacks have taken the yearly total of crypto lost to exploits to around $925M.
