The new crypto law would reportedly allow citizens to pay their taxes in crypto and allow the use of crypto as a form of payment for businesses.

The Central African Republic (CAR) has become the center of a hot buzz in the crypto world amid various reports of it adopting Bitcoin (BTC) quite similar to El Salvador. However, contrary to popular headlines, the African nation has not adopted BTC as a legal tender, instead, it has reportedly legalized the use of cryptocurrencies in the financial markets.

Malaysian police have destroyed 1,773 Bitcoin ASIC miners, according to a Sunday report by local newspaper Sinar Harian.Apart from mining machines, the authorities also disposed of computers, modems, desktop switches and routers, and CCTVs.

The aforementioned equipment had been seized as the result of 38 raids carried out in the Kota Setar District.Acting on a tip, Kedah police searched 21 locations to investigate electrical power theft, electric meter tampering, and the level of damage inflicted on electricity supply lines.Illegal mining is pretty common in Malaysia. In December, Malaysian authorities confiscated more than 1,700 Bitcoin mining machines.

The data tracker goes on to say that the top 5,000 Ethereum wallets collectively hold $1.46 billion worth of Shiba Inu tokens.Also popular among the investor cohort is FTX Token (FTT), the native asset of the popular FTX cryptocurrency exchange, as deep-pocketed wallets hold $1.22 billion worth of FTT.FTT powers the FTX ecosystem, giving traders reduced trading fees and rebates, among other benefits.While it was eclipsed by SHIB, Polygon remains a popular asset among ETH whales to the tune of $332.59 million.

A director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) says that crypto regulation is “certainly high on the agenda” for India. “We are trying to come up with global standards for #crypto asset regulations. I think that’s important for India to also adopt,” said the IMF official.

Tobias Adrian, Financial Counselor and Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)’s Monetary and Capital Markets Department, discussed India’s crypto regulation in an interview with PTI Tuesday at the annual spring meeting of the IMF and the World Bank.Officials of India’s Ministry of Finance have reportedly been consulting with the IMF and the World Bank on crypto policies as the government works on how to treat crypto assets.

Measures imposed by the European Union's fifth round of sanctions against Russia mandate that Binance place restrictions on the use of its services by individuals or businesses based in Russia with crypto assets worth more than 10,000 euros, as per a statement released by the company on April 21.

There will be no impact on accounts for Russian nationals living outside of Russia that has been confirmed with evidence of address, as well as accounts for Russian nationals, natural persons resident in Russia, or legal companies incorporated in Russia that have a total value of less than 10,000 EUR will continue to be operational.

After a few days of consolidating above the $40,000 mark, bitcoin slipped below that level to a new monthly low. The altcoins are also deep in the red today, with ETH dumping beneath $3,000 and even more substantial price losses from Ripple, Solana, Cardano, Terra, and Polkadot.

The past few days were rather calm in the altcoin market, with little-to-no substantial price movements. Today, though, the situation is mainly different.Ethereum leads the adverse trend with a price decline of almost 5%. As a result, the second-largest cryptocurrency has dropped below $3,000 for the third time this month.Binance Coin struggles at around $400 after a 3.5% daily decrease. Just until yesterday, BNB was close to $420.
