Coffee giant Starbucks is teaming up with Polygon (MATIC) to give its loyalty program customers a chance to buy and earn collectible non-fungible token (NFT) stamps.

Starbucks Coffee Company is turning to Polygon to launch the collectible digital stamps as part of its Web3 program called Starbucks Odyssey.

Another Rug Pull (pulling the rug), if you have not heard such a concept before, then this means that the project was started as a scam. This time, SudoRare turned out to be such a project. Earlier this month, news of the arrival of the SudoRare platform began to spread. An obvious "fork" of two popular and unrelated NFT platforms, SudoSwap and LooksRare. Basically promising to provide lucrative rewards to those who wager $LOOKS, $WETH and $XMON on their platform. The Merge, as announced by the Ethereum Foundation, will happen in two steps. The primary step is the Bellatrix network upgrade that is set to occur on September 6, 11:34 AM. The network upgrade is followed by the Paris upgrade, which will complete the execution layer’s transition from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake. Coinbase‘s Ethereum Name Service (ENS) integration is live, changing wallet usernames to an ENS subdomain of Coinbase IDs. Users can change their ENS names once a year and use them in any manner they choose to, as long as it complies with Coinbase’s Subdomain Terms — which have yet to be announced.

ENS is a decentralized identity infrastructure provider, and its integration will allow Coinbase users to use a personalized and decentralized form of identification within the Web3 space. To make the ENS migration as fast as possible, Coinbase will store the new usernames off-chain for the time being. The exchange said it is planning to further decentralize by carrying them on-chain. The current Coinbase usernames are also built on top of ENS infrastructure and, therefore, a type of ENS. Open / Comment

The Metaverse-based play-to-earn platform Adademon has altered the NFT gaming industry that it has signed a development contract with renowned NFT game production studio CUBIX.co. The Adademon team has disclosed that the game’s MVP and an ADADEMON metaverse visual trailer would be released the following week. The team has also created an NFT land called Elysian Plains, which consists of 150,000 separate pieces of land, each with its own distinct characteristics and easy access to the resources required to build a fully functional ADA Demon metaverse. Hackers and scammers are refining their methods by including more technological tools in their schemes. Binance chief communications officer (CCO), Patrick Hillmann, reported last week about a new and sophisticated way in which attackers have used his image to perform a listing scam operation.

Hillmann stated that hackers managed to program an AI (artificial intelligence) hologram of him, a kind of deepfake that was used to scam representatives of several cryptocurrency projects in Zoom calls. The hologram was able to fool these projects into believing that they were being considered for listing on Binance and that Hillmann was part of this operation. Open / Comment

Nike is one of the few mainstream companies that has hit the nail on the head in the NFT market. Last year, the American MNC was in the news for acquiring a company that made NFTs and sneakers for the metaverse. Then, in April this year, Nike released its first collection of virtual sneakers, Cryptokicks. The collection comprised 20,000 NFTs, including one the artist Takashi Murakami designed. The same was purchased for a whopping $134,000.
