At the core of Bumper’s crypto price protection protocol there is a philosophy.

Whilst, many DeFi and Blockchain projects have at their heart some guiding principles, typically these emerge from a desire to challenge or circumvent established and generally centralised systems of control, or to utilise some of the more arcane properties inherent to Distributed Ledger Technologies.

For us, a large part of our philosophy derives from the work of one of the most influential thinkers of the 20th century, John Rawls.

In this article, we’ll explain why a highly respected philosopher who is widely known across the entire political and economic spectrum (yet mostly unknown by the masses) led our chief architect and CTO Samuel Brooks to describe Bumper as “a public market based on the Rawlsian principle of Distributive Justice”.

2022-09-15 18:30:01 Ethereum Merge Completed — What happens now — Is volatility inbound?

After 6 years, the Ethereum Merge finally happened today. The world’s second-biggest cryptocurrency has officially moved to its long touted Proof of Stake consensus mechanism.

The historic upgrade ends the blockchain’s Proof of Work mining to a more energy-efficient system, and it’s estimated that this could reduce the Ethereum network's energy requirements by over 99%.

The new consensus mechanism replaces Miners with Validators, who are required to stake a minimum amount of ETH in order to participate in being able to write blocks to the ledger.

The ETH merge is one of the biggest events to happen in crypto for some time, but the question now on the minds of many crypto enthusiasts is what impact this may have on the market. Is volatility inbound, or are we going to have to wait a little while longer to see what ETH will do next?

2022-08-30 19:00:00 How Bumper Pools work — an overview of the architecture of the Bumper price protection protocol

As Bumper’s architecture is quite complex, in this article we will explore the basics of how Bumper’s pools function, without getting overly technical.

Many DeFi protocol structures employ a pair of pools, with each being the repository for a single digital asset or token.

Bumper uses a similar structure, but with the addition of two additional pools for each token type, making a total of four pools (or as we call it, a quadrature of pools).

These four pools are called:

→ The Asset Pool
→ The Asset Reserve Pool
→ The Capital Pool
→ The Capital Reserve Pool
