We want to inform you that the first utility for the BUX Token is now live in our app BUX Zero! You can use the BUX Token in the BUX Zero app to trade crypto without commissions

This means that there’s a 0.5% commission on crypto trades. However, if you hold more than 1000 BUX Tokens in your BUX Zero account, then commissions on crypto orders will be waived.

We want to inform you that from September 1st onwards, you can use the BUX Token in the BUX Zero app to trade crypto without commissions

This means that with the implemented utility, we will charge you a 0.5% commission on your crypto trades. However, if you hold more than 1000 BUX Tokens in your BUX Zero account, then commissions on crypto orders will be waived.

This is the first step we’re taking to implement a token model that will give you multiple benefits when using BUX.

In the past months the economic situation of the world has changed the financial and crypto markets a lot. Inflation is rising to levels not seen in 40 years, the Russia-Ukraine conflict is continuing and the economy is still recovering from COVID19. As these things impact the markets, it indirectly also affects us. Therefore, we have decided to change our short-term strategy and I would like to explain why.

In these uncertain markets it's important to focus on sustainability instead of hyper growth to remain the trusted party for our clients in the long term. Therefore, in the upcoming period, we will shift our priorities towards optimizing our core product offering so that we can continue our path of sustainable growth in the years to come. This means that we’ll have to deprioritize new and innovative features, and focus on our core business for the coming months.

This short-term shift in focus also has an effect on the roadmap that we have for crypto and the BUX Token. As a result, we therefore cannot deliver the new utilities for the BUX Token in line with the planned timeline in our latest roadmap update. This however does not mean that we will not build the new utilities at all, but simply at a later stage in the end of Q4 or early 2023.

Although we have to push these things back a bit, this July, we will still launch the utility in BUX Zero that all users get a 100% discount on trading commissions if they hold 1000 BUX Tokens in their portfolio or more. The next step, building the trading fee cashback utility will resume at the end of this year.

I know that this is very unfortunate news for the loyal BUX Token community who have supported us since the beginning, but I want to be absolutely clear and transparent about our priorities and strategy so that we can better position BUX strategically in these uncertain times.

In order to give you all more context on our strategy, we will schedule a 30-min AMA today the 1st of July at 12:30 Amsterdam time (CET), in which you can ask all your questions directly to me.
