The Government of Maharashtra has revealed that they are partnering up with LegitDoc, an Indian blockchain startup, to verify diplomas using blockchain technology.
Through a system powered by Ethereum, students in India will be given digital diploma certificates that cannot be forged.
The decision comes amidst increasing numbers of fraudulent documents being produced in India. The country will be one of the first to put this kind of system in place, alongside Malta and Singapore.
