Binance Security Team Has Identified Two Suspects in KyberSwap Hack

According to a tweet by Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the exchange’s security team has identified two suspects who might be responsible for the KyberSwap hack. The tweet read,

"Binance security team has identified two suspects for yesterday's KyberSwap hack. We have provided the intel to the Kyber team, and are coordinating with LE (law enforcement),"

The tweet was received with many praising Binance for its proactive aid in identifying malicious actors in the space. One user even tweeted,

“Binance is now playing the role of a big brother in the crypto space. Binance has gone beyond securing its platform to securing the entire crypto ecosystem.”

Hacker Steals Bill Murray’s Crypto After $185K NFT Charity Auction

Actor Bill Murray is the latest to be hit by hackers in the crypto space. According to the report, an attacker drained funds from Murray’s personal crypto wallet, making off with 119.2 ETH that was raised in a charity auction just the day before the attack.

The attacker also reportedly tried to steal the NFTs present in the wallet, however, this was foiled due to a security measure that automatically transferred the NFTs to a safekeeping wallet. While the original ETH raised for charity is lost, a runner-up in the auction, Coinbase user Mishap72, has reportedly sent 120 ETH (around $187,500) to Chive Charities to replace what was lost.

Blockstream, Sevenlabs Partner to Launch Decentralised Bitcoin Exchange ‘XDEX’

According to this report from Bitcoin Magazine, Bitcoin infrastructure service providers Blockstream and Sevenlabs have partnered with Poseidon Group to launch ‘XDEX’, the first decentralised security token exchange for Bitcoin and security assets.

By supporting assets from the Bitcoin ecosystem and enabling peer-to-peer trade, XDEX will effectively cut out middlemen from the transaction.

XDEX general counsel, Lars Schlichting stated,

“The use of P2P infrastructure by current financial markets is inevitable. XDEX’s launch is a milestone during this transition to a more decentralised financial system made possible by Bitcoin and will pave the way for other financial institutions and trading venues to evolve.”
