2021-02-18 21:09:44 Layer2.finance: Get DeFi Mass Adoption Today, Scaling Layer-1 DeFi “In-place” with ZERO Migration

Today, we are excited to introduce Layer2.finance, a Celer Network project that aims to bring mass audiences to the existing Decentralized Finance (DeFi) ecosystem with layer-2 scaling technology. Layer2.finance acts as a low-cost and trust-free gateway for the “early majority” users to explore and benefit from the existing DeFi ecosystem without the concerns of high transaction (gas) costs offsetting their gains.

Layer2.finance enables quadratic scaling of the existing layer-1 DeFi ecosystem “in-place” with no protocol migration needed and therefore, does not cause liquidity fragmentation or break composability. Layer2.finance achieves this using an optimized layer-2 rollup construct to aggregate N small-fish users’ fund allocation transactions on layer-2 into a single one on layer-1 in a trust-free fashion. In this blog post, we’ll discuss the motivation, architecture and launch plan for Layer2.finance.

We are thrilled to introduce Celer cBridge, a multi-chain network that enables instant, low-cost and ANY-to-ANY value transfers within and across Ethereum’s layer-2 chains, Ethereum main chain and in the future, other layer-1s, and layer-2 on top of those other layer-1 chains.

A summary of some immediate use cases of Celer cBridge are：

- Instant and low-cost multi-hop value transfer between multiple different layer-2 networks on Ethereum, including Optimistic Rollups, such as Optimism, Arbitrum and Celer Rollups, and PoS Sidechains such as Matic and SKALE, without going through underlying layer-1 blockchain.
- Instant entering and existing layer2 from/to Ethereum layer-1 without long delay.
- Two-way bridging between layer-2 on one blockchain and a completely different layer-1 blockchains without going through the corresponding root layer-1 at all.
- Seamless connection to Celer State Channel Network in any single chain with full cross-chain routing support.

2021-02-04 10:49:12 Binance Joins Celer State Guardian Network as a Node, offering up to 37.49% Annualized Staking Reward

Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain service provider, launches a node to join Celer State Guardian Network (SGN) and help secure Celer’s layer-2 State Channel Network. Binance also launched a delegation product where users can delegate their CELR token on binance.com and earn up to 37.49% staking reward. The launch of Binance as a staking partner also marks the successful transition to Phase 2 of SGN’s launch phases.

To delegate your token, Binance has built an easy-to-use staking portal where you can delegate your CELR directly via the Locked Staking product.

Needless to say, 2020 has been a special year for all of us. The world came to a stop early in 2020 and tumbled on the whole year. We all witnessed the greatness and bravery of medical workers around the globe and heart-broken moments in many people’s life. Here, we just want to first wish everyone a truly better 2021.

For Celer’s team, we feel very lucky that our team stayed healthy and strong together. We spent 2020 in a heads-down building mode with major milestones achieved on both the technical side and large-scale real-world adoption. In this blog post, we summarize the milestones in 2020 and provides an update towards an even more exciting 2021.
