Critical bug in Ethereum L2 Optimism, $2M bounty paid
Ethereum Layer-2 solution Optimism has fixed a critical software bug in one of its smart contracts on Ethereum. The bug made it possible for a malicious hacker to create unlimited ETH on Optimism. The bug was fixed and $2 million in bounty was paid out to the hacker.
