2022-10-24 08:15:00 Block builds a Bitcoin mining hardware team:

Jack Dorsey's Block, formerly known as Square, is looking to fill the ranks of its bitcoin mining and wallet hardware teams.

Block wants to hire a "test hub lead" for mining hardware and software applications.

The move isn't surprising; Dorsey spoke about creating an 'open' bitcoin mining ecosystem back in January.

The post suggests that Block may create and sell an entire product line of mining hardware, opening up a potential new competitive front.

But as The Block's Catarina Moura has reported, the mining ASIC market isn't exactly healthy these days. As such, Block might take its time before trying to jump into the market with next-gen products. Open / Comment
