The Fed called the stablecoin Tether a “challenge” for financial stability.

Stablecoin Tether (USDT) threatens the stability of the financial system, said Erin Rosengren, President of the Federal Reserve Bank (FRS) of Boston. In one of the slides of the presentation, he called the token the "new destroyer" of the short-term lending market.

The Boston Fed President also expressed concerns about the lack of regulation of the stablecoin market, which, in his words, "is becoming an increasingly important sector of the economy."
