BitMart revealed details of the hack and will compensate victims
The other day was hacked BitMart crypto exchange, c hot wallets BSC and Ethereum withdrew more than $ 150 million. BitMart CEO Sheldon Xia reported that attackers managed to steal private keys of wallets of exchange, after which the hacker was able to withdraw funds.
The hacker used 1inch to exchange stolen tokens for Ethereum and deposited the ethereal funds into a Tornado Cash mixer to conceal his identity.
According to PeckShield, hackers withdrew about $200 million (~$100 million in Ethereum, ~$96 million BSC) from the platform.
Sheldon Xia said that the exchange has completed a security review and identified the affected assets and plans to compensate users from its own reserve.
