Visa will help banks introduce cryptocurrencies and is testing direct bitcoin payments
The payment giant Visa has created a global advisory service on cryptocurrencies. The company will help banks develop in this segment.
Visa's head of cryptocurrency, Kai Sheffield, said his company has a "key role to play" in this market.
Sheffield says there was a turning point this year. Banks realized that their customers wanted access to cryptocurrencies.
Consequently, they want to gain more knowledge, to learn how to line up with exchanges and wallet providers.
Visa wants to become a "bridge between banks and the cryptocurrency ecosystem".
