In three years, we'll only be dating in the metaverse - Bill Gates.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates has written a summary of "Reasons for optimism after a tough year" in which he shares his vision of how our lives will change.
"I predict that in the next 2-3 years virtual meetings will take place not through a two-dimensional camera, but in a meta-universe, a three-dimensional space with digital avatars. Facebook and Microsoft have already presented their concepts of what this will look like."
Gates added that Microsoft plans to release a hybrid version of the webcam in 2022. It could be used to animate an avatar from the current 2D format.
