On Friday, Chaopeng Zhao, founder and CEO of Binance—the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange—tweeted: “Journalists [are] talking to people who were let go from Binance and partners that didn’t work out [who] are trying to smear us. We are focused on anti-money laundering, transparent and welcome regulation.”

Zhao, the Chinese-Canadian entrepreneur who is known ‘CZ’ in the crypto world, penned the tweet in response to a Reuters investigation into Binance published on the same day. In public, Binance lauded greater government oversight.

The El Salvador government, in their official statement, said that Bukele will attempt to "Strengthen relations with the country and seek cooperation and investment opportunities." In the statement, it was recalled that in the past year, Turkey had played a role in helping El Salvador fight the deadly pandemic.

"In 2021, the Turkish Cooperation Agency facilitated the online training module 'Methods to combat COVID-19,' which benefited 35 doctors and representatives of the health sector in El Salvador. El Salvador has also explored opportunities for Turkish companies to invest in El Salvador, specifically in the energy and tourism sectors."

Bitcoin has dropped significantly in price over the last few days. Bitcoin’s price dropped 8.75% in the last 24 hours, currently trading at around $35,600. This is no reason to panic, however, according to Plan B, the pseudonymous creator of the Bitcoin stock-to-flow (S2F) model. Plan B has even urged market participants to embrace volatility as over the long term Bitcoin has proven to be a rewarding investment.

In a recent tweet, the creator of the Bitcoin S2F model has reiterated his bullishness on Bitcoin and his confidence in the S2F model. Using his investment journey as a case in point, Plan B urged market participants to hold a long-term view of Bitcoin and ignore the current dip.

The government of El Salvador plans to offer small and medium-sized companies $10 million in crypto-based loans as of the first quarter of 2022.

Acumen, a Solana-based lending and borrowing platform, will provide U.S. dollar funding to El Salvador's National Commission for Micro and Small Enterprises, a government entity that plans to allocate financing to local informal entrepreneurs and self-employed workers, Conamype's president Paul Steiner told CoinDesk.
