Per a Thursday announcement, Ukraine’s central bank has suspended the country’s electronic currency markets. This news comes after the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky imposed martial law in the country following the invasion of Russian forces earlier today.

The National Bank of Ukraine implemented new rules this morning, including an order to suspend e-money issuers, stop the replenishment of e-wallets with e-money, and halt distribution of e-money to e-money issuing banks.

Another twist in the case of the frozen Bitcoin (BTC) linked to the Canadian truckers protesting Covid-19 restrictions in Ottawa has emerged. Blockchain analysis has revealed the Bitcoin donated to the ‘Freedom Convoy’ has been on the move, defying the authorities’ orders to freeze the funds.

In fact, almost all of the approximately 20 BTC (about $788,000 US dollars at current rates) sent to the Tallycoin fundraiser has been moved, with just 0.11 BTC remaining, according to a CoinDesk report citing Blockchain.com statistics.

The Dish Network-owned virtual pay TV company announced Friday that its customers can now pay their monthly bills using a wide variety of cryptocurrency types via BitPay.One of the largest global blockchain payment providers, BitPay supports more than 90 crypto wallet applications, including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Wrapped Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Litecoin and Shiba Inu Coin.

New Sling TV users must use American Dollars to sign up for the service, but can use crypto through BitPay for subsequent payments. Notably, customers cannot set up recurring payments using BitPay -- they'll have to go in every month and conduct a manual pre-payment ranging from one to six months.

A United Kingdom-based commercial law firm, Gunnercooke, has become the latest practice to accept cryptocurrency as payment for services, a report has said. The firm also claims to be one of the first major U.K.-based law firms to give its clients the payment choice.

As explained in a Law Society Gazette report, Gunnercooke will now route any such payments via Coinpass, a registered cryptocurrency exchange platform. The report also names, Attestant, a cryptocurrency transactions verification service, as one of the law firm’s clients that are paying for services using cryptocurrency.
