Genesis Global has reached an agreement with Digital Currency Group (DCG) and its creditors to restructure its crypto trading and market-making arm. In addition, the deal will see DCG contribute its share of equity in Genesis Global Trading, which will be sold as part of the restructuring efforts.

The agreement will bring all Genesis-related entities under the same holding company and will see DCG exchanging a $1.1 billion promissory note for convertible preferred stock. Additionally, DCG will refinance its existing term loans and make them payable to creditors.

Gemini will also contribute $100 million for its Gemini Earn users who have funds frozen with the bankrupt firm. The restructuring plan, pending court approval, will result in the sale of Genesis Global Trading.

A recent update from Genesis creditor and crypto yield platform Donut stated that the restructuring plan has a recovery rate of approximately 80 cents per dollar deposited, with a path to $1.00 for creditors. The recoverable amount will depend on the equity note, realized liquidation prices, and any unknown costs associated with the bankruptcy.

Leading crypto exchange Binance has unveiled a new tax reporting tool to help users stay on top of their crypto transactions and prepare for tax season. The Binance Tax tool allows users to download a comprehensive tax summary report that includes all gains and losses from their Binance account, including spot trades, crypto donations, and blockchain-based fork rewards.

Binance's move comes in response to a growing number of inquiries from users about their tax liabilities. The tool is currently in a pilot phase in France and Canada, but the company plans to extend it to other global markets later in the year.

For now, Binance Tax is only available for information held on the Binance platform. However, the company is exploring ways to integrate with other platforms in the crypto industry in the future, to provide a more comprehensive solution to users.

Everlend Finance is terminating operations and requesting that users remove their money from the site in accordance with the Solana decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol.

The business made the announcement on Twitter on February 1 and said that, although having "enough runway" to continue operating, doing so would be risky given the state of the market. The Everland's team specifically noted:

"Unfortunately, rn liquidity is just not there, and this is so not just about Solana, and the B/L market (on which Everlend is 100% dependent) keeps shrinking. In these conditions pressing forward is a gamble. And even though we had enough runway, we decided to stop now."

Everlend said that until the funds are cleared, the app would only allow withdrawals while deposits from underlying protocols are currently in vaults. "We suggest our users withdraw their funds asap."

The team said that any cash received and unclaimed, as well as payments to third parties for services rendered, will be "covered" in the following two weeks, signifying that all parties concerned will be compensated in full. The protocol's codebase will also be made open-source, enabling others to keep creating solutions on top of it.
