Silicon valley unicorn Robinhood launches hotly anticipated IPO
Robinhood's mission is to make investment available to many people. The company was founded in 2013 by savvy Stanford University roommates Vlad Tenev and Baiju Bhatt. The platform has a total of 17.7 million active users in 2021
Just last year in September 2020 it was valued at $11.7bn at a private equity fundraising, and it was valued at $32bn yesterday after selling 52.4 million shares at $38 per share on the Nasdaq under the symbol HOOD. The company now has a market cap of around $29bn
