Uniswap V3 to be released in May, details revealed
The third iteration of the market-leading decentralized exchange Uniswap will arrive this spring, according to new details of the so-called v3 launch released Tuesday.
Last week, Hayden Adams, Uniswap's founder, expressed perhaps the universal spirit of anticipation for the long-awaited v3 details in his tweet.
"If I have to go another week without publicly announcing the details of Uniswap v3, I might go crazy," Adams wrote.
At the heart of the update is the ability of liquidity providers (LPs) to enter markets within customizable price ranges, an approach dubbed concentrated liquidity. LPs are responsible for placing their assets into pools of liquidity against which Uniswap users trade. This is comparable to Wall Street market makers who provide liquidity and thereby help traders open and close positions.
