NY Times column in NFT sold for about $560,000
According to the official website of the crypto-art platform Foundation, the New York Times tokenized one of its articles in the NFT yesterday and put it up for sale. The auction of columnist Kevin Rose's column in NFT ended today. The NFT article sold for 350 ETH, or about $560,000.
Kevin Roose auctioned off his New York Times column article "Buy This Column on Blockchain!" 24 hours ago on March 24 as a non-negotiable token (NFT) on the Foundation's crypto-art platform. The proceeds will be donated to the New York Times' Most Needy Cases Fund, and the publication will feature the buyer in a follow-up article about the transaction.
"Why can't a journalist join the NFT movement, too?" the columnist asks.
