South Korean presidential candidate intends to raise funds in cryptocurrency and issue NFT
Korean media reported Sunday that the Democratic Party of Korea, the country's leading political force, is going to raise election funds using cryptocurrency and issue receipts in the form of non-exchangeable tokens (NFTs) to donors. The money will be used to finance the campaign of party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung.
Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and up to three other cryptocurrencies are now under consideration.
The NFT will feature pictures of the candidate and his campaign promises to those who donate to the campaign to raise money for the March 9 presidential election. The tokens are expected to be a new means of communicating with young voters.
