Dogecoin is seeing renewed activity from whales, or large holders of the meme-focused cryptocurrency, according to on-chain data tracked by analytics firm IntoTheBlock.The number of transactions with a value of at least $100,000 rose to 2,440 on Monday, the highest since Jan. 14.

"The number of large transactions is a relevant metric tracking the count of transactions greater than $100,000," IntoTheBlock's explainer says. "Since this sum of money is not available to the average retail trader on-chain, the indicator acts as a proxy to the number of whales' and institutional players' transactions."The agreement to buy Twitter (TWTR) by Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla (TSLA) and SpaceX, was announced Monday, and could have galvanized whale activity in dogecoin.

First teased in the February Shiba Inu AMA, the SHIB team, in partnership with third-party token Ryoshi's Vision, created the portal to remove SHIB from the circulating supply of 549 trillion. First Miami Presbyterian Church in Florida has announced it will be accepting Dogecoin donations going forward. The church made the declaration in its Easter message in reply to Elon Musk’s Twitter post saying Happy Easter to Dogecoin Fans.

This does not come as a surprise as Christopher Benek is also a strong Dogecoin supporter known on Twitter as Rev. Dr. Doge. As the church holds online services in addition to in-person services, it has made provisions on its website for Dogecoin donations to make it easier for members to donate directly to the church. The church also accepts Bitcoin donations.
