2022-08-19 20:58:38 The Dtravel community wants you! Active community members now have a chance to join as a community moderator.

We call these moderators Dtravel Community Guides because they help guide new and existing members to success, in the same way that a travel guide helps travellers get the experience they’re looking for when they are in a new place.

The Dtravel Community Guide Program is a volunteer program that allows passionate community members to get involved and help shape the Dtravel community. Moderators are the life blood of a community and we can’t wait for our Community Guides to use their enthusiasm and experience to help Dtravel community members succeed and to help grow the community.

* Completed product outline for guest portal / booking platform
* PMS exploration calls, refining options to reduce host onboarding friction
* Kickoff guest research to learn from guests about their experience so far

DESIGN
* Completed onboarding second product designer
* Continued to develop host onboarding guide design and UX
* Made progress on Host Tools evolution
* Began work on Listing Page and Checkout Flow optimization

INTEGRATIONS & PARTNERSHIPS
* Completed the second draft of our chapter in Boostly’s Direct Booking Blue Print Book. Dtravel will be the only web3 project amongst a stellar lineup of influential leaders and companies in the direct booking space.
* Engaged in integration discussions with Travala and other partners to explore adding Dtravel powered listings
* Working through next steps with PMS integration partners in the pipeline

MARKETING & COMMUNITY

* Cynthia spoke as an expert on Phocuswire’s Think Tank panel last week

* Notified prospective hosts of our latest PMS partnership integration, Uplisting
* Uplisting is a leading PMS solution, offering a free trial and a significant discount to Dtravel hosts with 4 or less properties
* Started meeting with early-adopter hosts to discuss direct booking marketing tactics that will help them drive more direct bookings using their Dtravel powered listings

WHAT IS NEXT FOR DTRAVEL

Over the next 6 months, our focus is on the following:

* Build a metasearch engine to function as a guest discovery portal for listings
* Increase the number of web2 and web3 signup options
* Develop alternative ways to create a Dtravel listing
* Expand PMS and channel manager integrations
* Drive supply, demand, and growth with conferences, events, and advertising
* Introduce a Dtravel Advocate Program
* Implement host and guest rewards
* Add TRVL to Dtravel as a payment option

PROJECT SUMMARY

* We believe the book direct model liberates hosts from strict policies of OTAs & 3rd-party rental platforms
* Guests will receive better prices and have more meaningful interactions with hosts
* Think of what we’re building as a decentralized Shopify (but for short-term rentals)
* Hosts truly own their own direct booking business, set their own rules, terms, and policies
* The overarching goal of Dtravel is to build a web3 travel ecosystem
* A key component of this ecosystem is interconnected listings discoverable via a metasearch engine
* For example, a web2 analogue would be an aggregate of all Shopify merchants discoverable via a directory
* The Dtravel metasearch engine will differ from web2 OTA search engines since data is received from individually owned direct booking sites rather than originating from the Dtravel website itself
* This prevents Dtravel from becoming an intermediary
* The booking is still facilitated between the host and guest directly via smart contract
* The metasearch engine will consolidate property listings and redirect travelers to each listing — similar to Tripadvisor or Skyscanner Open / Comment

And a day later, the bookings keep coming… The next couple of bookings were with properties by early-adopter host, Seven. In our Host Beta Program channel , Seven explained that he simply shared his Merchant Page (

) with all of his current and past guests via SMS and Email. Two separate parties ended up extending their stay and completed their bookings using Seven's Dtravel powered listings. Hint: Easy wins for all host currently using Dtravel
