Billionaire Carl Icahn said he could invest up to $ 1.5 billion in cryptocurrency.
Former crypto skeptic Carl Icahn, founder of Icahn Enterprises, told Bloomberg that he intends to enter the cryptocurrency market "in a big way," announcing an investment of about $ 1.5 billion.
Icahn is an investor and former adviser to the Trump administration, whose fortune, according to Forbes, is $ 15.6 billion.
In 2018, Icahn told CNBC that cryptocurrency is "ridiculous" and added, "I may be too old for it, but I wouldn't get into that."
But on May 26, Icahn explained that he is now considering a large investment and that such a market entry “will not mean buying a few coins or something like that”:
"I mean, the big road for us will be a billion dollars, one and a half billion dollars ... I will not say for sure."
Icahn joins a growing list of other billionaires who have changed their minds about crypto in the past 12 months.
