Bitcoin going to the moon in 2023 summer
Astrobotic Technology, BitMEX, and Bitcoin Magazine have partnered to send the first physical Bitcoin to the Moon from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida this summer.
The special Bitcoin is loaded with 1 BTC, along with a public address and a private key engraved. People can interact with it from the Earth or in space by sending items such as Bitcoin Ordinals to the Moon.
Stephan Lutz, CEO & Group CFO at BitMEX, said Bitcoin will live forever in space, as a monument of a world without borders where everyone can use it.
The historic moment celebration includes an auction for Bitcoin on the Moon rock, limited-edition commemorative coins and Ordinals, and other collectibles.
