An ongoing crypto scam that continues making the rounds can be found on the dating app Tinder. According to a Reddit post, one version of this scam involves Asian women (or individuals posing as Asian women) gaining the trust of their victims on Tinder before moving the conversation to Whatsapp or WeChat.

Then the conversation turns to investments and “an inside tip about a new crypto asset” or the girl’s rich uncle who is a blockchain investor etc. Once the victims transfer funds, their money is gone. Hundreds of Tinder users have shared their experience in this Reddit post and others - although none say they actually fell for it.

2021-07-21 10:30:06 Turkey’s crypto bill ready for parliament, says Deputy Minister of Finance

The Turkish Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced that a draft bill to establish a legal framework for crypto assets in the country is ready.

Deputy Minister Şakir Ercan Gül announced that the crypto bill would be proposed to The Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the unicameral Turkish legislature, at the start of the next legislative year in October 2021.

Legislative regulation will help to avoid cryptocurrency fraud. In the meantime, be more careful about your investments, beware of scammers!

The number of institutional investors—wealth managers, foundations and so on—that own crypto assets has grown dramatically, and will continue to do so in the future, according to a new survey from Fidelity Digital Assets. The survey found 90% of institutional investors planned to own crypto by 2026. Interest is strongest in Asia, but investors in Europe and the U.S. are becoming more bullish as well

A section of cryptocurrency experts have shown optimism that Bitcoin will replace central bank-issued fiat currency by 2040 in a process called ‘hyperbitcoinisation.’

According to a survey by finance platform Finder, 50% of the respondents expect Bitcoin to overtake global currency by 2040. A majority of the experts at 20% believe the takeover will happen by 2040.
