A couple of months ago Faceter announced our plan for simple, open and affordable facial recognition API development.

There are two important updates on this matter:

We have released a draft documentation for API which is already available on Github

Testing Tools for integrations which are already available in the Profile - Integration tab of the camera owner account.

Faceter Fog users can now add IP cameras via RTSP for facial recognition as well as other video sources using a public Cloud Faceter archive link.

In the update:

Switch to system.d, use of the standard logging mechanism, only one instance of the application now runs in the system.

Status of Paused contracts is now displayed in the camera list.

Contracts in the Paused state can be canceled by the camera owner.

Fog Recognition API: Internal mechanism for forwarding recognition events (no UI for customization yet).

We have added new features and functions:

- Camera owners can now see the recognition status on an active contract;

- Contract payments are not charged if there is no video source for analyzing and are resumed with email notifications to both sides of the contract when there is a video source;

- Recognition events are accumulated in the centralized FOG storage and transferred to the Faceter account (the next step to the public API);

- Inactive payment methods are no longer hidden, but appear as temporarily unavailable;

- Bug fixes.
