Google invested $ 1 billion in CME Group, which is a Bitcoin futures provider
CME Futures has received a huge $ 1 billion investment from Google to bring its core trading systems to the cloud. The news was first published by the Wall Street Journal and reports that the tech giant will be providing its cloud-based CME services to "energy markets that process trillions of dollars in deals daily."
Both sides agreed on a ten-year partnership. CME will strive to acquire new users faster and develop new features using Google technology.
Founded over a century ago, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange provides its clients with access to numerous markets, from oil and gold to futures in the stock markets.
Since the end of 2017, CME has also become part of the cryptocurrency space by launching Bitcoin futures trading. CME has also launched Ethereum futures trading and most recently announced the launch of ETH micro-futures.
