Hackers stole the data of 7000 owners of Meta Mask crypto wallets

According to a statement by Consensus, the parent company of Meta Mask, users of a third-party service provider providing technical support to customers were subjected to a phishing attack.

"The incident was limited to a certain number of users who sent personal data to MetaMask customer support between August 1, 2021 and February 10, 2023," ConsenSys said.

The developers assure that the keys to the wallets are safe, the scammers turned out to have only the full name, dates of birth, addresses and phone numbers of users.

According to the Consensus support service, the incident did not affect the browser extension and the security of the MetaMask mobile application.
