The USD is today's strongest currency and ended a three day slide. Oil prices, however, continued to move higher (despite the stronger USD) with rising expectations that the supply crunch remains while demand continues to recover - driven by a very strong recovery of international flights - especially for the upcoming holiday season and further buying by countries and companies assuming rising oil prices. Even faster rising energy (and gas) prices also support the bullish trend in oil prices - especially as oil is increasingly used for power generation due to surge of gas prices - even at current prices. Add to that signs that winter in the northern hemisphere will get off to a somewhat colder-than-normal start - so further demand for oil for heating is also possible. In addition, the OPEC+ declined to significantly increase supply after yesterday's OPEC+ meeting. Oil remains bullish and will very soon break out of the current sideways movement to the upside.
