A few months ago on the bts. media forum, a user under the nickname Victor published a message about the loss of 9 BTC (≈$322,407)
He stored the private key from the wallet on the laptop.
And such cases are not rare.
As our community deals with crypto, then it would be advisable to remind you of the security rules when interacting with it.
Here're some of them:
Use your browser bookmarks to enter your personal accounts. Check the URL before entering passwords
Create complex passwords and use 2FA
Don't use your work email to link your accounts to it. The ideal option is a separate mail for each account
Store keys on separate media. Paper media are the safest
Diversify storage locations. Don't store all funds on exchanges
Beware of links to unknown resources
Check thoroughly addresses when transferring crypto
Following these simple rules you'll protect your funds
By the way recently MADzzZ has published an informative article about seed phrase and private keys
