Starbucks' New NFT Collection Has Failed on Sale
According to the Nifty Gateway marketplace, the coffee giant Starbucks managed to sell only 4,579 of the 5,000 non-interchangeable tokens included in the First Store collection. For comparison, the NFTs from the last Siren collection flew apart in 20 minutes.
The reasons for the failure of the collection are still unclear, but some members of the crypto community believe that the experiments of traditional companies with non-interchangeable tokens are doomed to failure. The co-founder of the Coral web 3 development company Armani Ferrante, for example, spoke about his doubts in The Scoop podcast:
"It is very unlikely that such companies will succeed. They just compare existing things and put them in the blockchain, rather than creating something completely new from scratch," he shared.
