Warner Music Group partners with NFT game developer

The Warner Music Group Corporation (WMG) and the Splinterlands NFT-related team have agreed to cooperate.

The deal will open up opportunities for label-affiliated musicians to create and develop P2E games as a new source of revenue and empower fans.

Splinterlands has over 1.8 million registered users, 450,000 of which are active on a daily basis. The tactical NFT card game was launched in 2018.

“I look forward to collaborating at the intersection of gaming, music, crypto, NFT, DeFi, and blockchain,” said Splinterlands co-founder and CEO Jesse Reich.

The agreement will complement other WMG initiatives in the blockchain space. In 2021, the label agreed with Genies to create NFT avatars and merchandise. In January, WMG formed a partnership with digital collectibles platform Blockparty.

“The Web3 ecosystem continues to evolve. WMG is committed to having music play a key role,” explained Oana Ruxandra.
