2021-12-11 13:12:36 Hi guys.

Thank you all for attending our last event. The discussion turned out to be very deep and hot indeed.

We got 3 completely different views - conservative view by Andriy Poddyerogin from NBU, liberal view by Michael Chobanian from Kuna, and just in the middle of this spectrum - view by Tymofiy Mylovanov from KSE.

Based on your feedback, you like this event a lot - it was interesting, captive (the exact opposite to the lecture format), but you still have learned a lot for yourself. Thank you, we appreciate it a lot.

As you may notice, we have deviated a bit from the original syllabus and trying to find the optimal meeting format and will try our best to organize more events in a format like the latest one.

2021-12-08 12:09:49 Hi guys.

Andriy Poddyerogin, Director of the Payment Systems and Innovations Department of the National Bank of Ukraine, will join the panel discussion on the topic of e-hryvnia.

About the panelist:

Andriy Poddyerogin has been working in the Ukrainian banking sector for almost 30 years and is well versed in the payment market. All his professional activity is closely connected with the development of non-cash payments, payment systems, and card products in large banks, such as - JSC "Sberbank" (2009 - 2020), PJSC "Prominvestbank" (1996 - 2009), JSB "INCO" (1991 - 1996). He was also involved in public activities and since 2010 had been the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Interbank Association.

So, now we have 3 completely different points of view on what should be a design of e-hryvnia, and discussion promise to be hot.

So, if you still have not registered, the form is still open:

Hurry up, as it will be closed on Thursday at 10.00.

See you soon.

2021-12-06 12:33:01 Hi guys, the next KSE Crypto Club event will be held in the format of a panel discussion and will be dedicated to the topic - e-hryvnia, what should be its design?

The event will be held on December 9 at 19.00 in a hybrid format: offline (KSE campus, 3 Shpaka Street, Kyiv) + online stream.

A CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) is virtual money, backed and issued by central banks. As cryptocurrencies and stablecoins have become more popular, the world’s central banks have realized that they need to provide an alternative—or let the future of money pass them by.

As of November 2021, 87 countries (representing more than 90% of world GDP) are exploring CBDC. Leaders in this direction are China, Sweden, Canada, and, not surprisingly, Ukraine, where a pilot test of e-hryvnia was conducted back in 2018-2019.

CBDCs, such as e-hryvnia, open up many opportunities, such as simplification of the monetary and fiscal policies implementation, elimination of third-party risks, prevention of illicit activity. They also help with the inclusion of the unbanked to the economy. On the other hand, as the result of a poor design of CBDC, they may also introduce a lot of risks for the financial systems and economies.

Panelists:

Tymofiy Mylovanov
- President of the Kyiv School of Economics, former Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine (August 2019 to March 2020). He also has been holding the position of Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine during 2016-2019.

Michael Chobanian - Founder of KUNA.io, the first in Eastern Europe and CIS cryptocurrency exchange, President of the "Blockchain Association of Ukraine" (BAU), and Founder of UAX - stablecoin type cryptocurrency backed on a one-to-one reserve ratio to the hryvnia.

The number of seats is limited, so if you are planning to attend the event in an offline format, please register through the following form:

https://forms.gle/jkYKh3S7z9578n5H8

The link for the online stream will be posted 10 minutes before the start of the event.

See you soon.
