Before ending the trading year and resting with peace of mind, | LiteFinance

Before ending the trading year and resting with peace of mind, you should prepare in advance for 2022. Preparation will take a little time, you need to do only 4 steps:

Minimize your risk
Better yet, close all open positions!

Major currencies are unlikely to make any significant changes during the holiday week.
A few pips profit is not worth checking out the price action during Zoom's holiday calls with family and friends.

And if you decide to spend New Year's time watching Spider-Man, close long-term trades so that you can adjust your stop losses and minimize your exposure to risk.

Analyze trading performance.
Profit once doesn't always mean profit.

To keep doing what works and stop doing what doesn't work, you need to analyze your trading log. This will help to understand if the forex strategies used are suitable for the market environment and what else can be improved.

If you haven't started keeping a trade journal yet, then it's time to do it in the new year.

Even with this most basic information, you can calculate some helpful but overlooked metrics (ex: average return-on-risk, longest drawdowns, biggest win/losses, etc.)

Make goals for the coming year
Now that you have an idea of your strengths and weaknesses, start listing down your goals and expectations for the year ahead – keep’em simple and realistic, especially if you are a beginner.

Goals such as “I won’t take any impulse trades,” “I’ll identify a trending market before running my trending EA,” or “I’ll only take high reward-to-risk trades” are forex goals that are realistic and measurable.

Enjoy your break!
Taking a break is still one of the most effective ways to reduce trading stress.

You absolutely DO NOT NEED to trade in the last days of the year, take a break.
Don't worry, you will have many opportunities to apply your market knowledge and trading discipline in the coming year!

By following these simple steps, you’ll hit the ground running as soon as the opening bells ring in 2022!

Holiday greetings!
