PayPal to authorize withdraw in BTC
With the introduction of a Bitcoin (BTC) buying and selling service to its millions of users, PayPal has undoubtedly been an extremely powerful catalyst for the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem.
However, the news also drew criticism from some who questioned the centralization. In particular, skeptics said that users didn't have "real BTC," as they could only buy or sell bitcoins, not transfer them out of PayPal.
And it looks like the message has been heard! According to PayPal's head of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, Jose Fernandez da Ponte, the online payments giant is now working on a service to transfer cryptocurrencies off the platform and to third-party wallets.
This new feature completes the panel of services offered by PayPal and marks a new step forward in their desire to democratize cryptocurrencies.
