2022-03-18 13:59:26 Bridge POND & MPond from Arbitrum to Ethereum

Earlier this year, the Marlin network successfully migrated from Ethereum to Arbitrum.

To ensure a smooth transition, the token bridges were initially one-way. Starting today, $POND & $MPond on Arbitrum can be bridged back to Ethereum.

Highlights:

Deployed and launched the Flashbots relay for Polygon to enable searchers to send bundles to validators.

Added a Prometheus endpoint to mev-relay to track key metrics.

Developed and tested a UI to bridge tokens on-chain from Ethereum back to Arbitrum without having to use external bridges like Multichain.

Tests for governance contracts have been made a lot more extensive in preparation for Arbitrum deployment.

Developed monitoring and logging pipelines to monitor the relay infrastructure and extract potential insights into the operation for capacity planning.

Added CORS support to mev-relay so bundles can be sent to it from the browser.

2022-03-01 10:05:27 A week in review for our Flashbots MEV relay on Polygon

Usage:

Since going public, we've seen a steady increase in requests by MEV searchers.

In the last 72 hours alone, we've received over 30k requests & successfully delivered approx 7.5k bundles to our validator node.

It works:

mev-bor is stable.
No issues with our node.
Validation for other nodes to run mev-bor.

Daily observed MEV (till Oct 2021) was ~$120k.

We're in the process of updating our dashboard with other insightful analytics which will be shared on the regular.

Planning ahead:

The goal behind running our 0% commission node on Polygon has always been to showcase mev-bor's stability and convey usage.

The longer mev-bor runs (while capturing value), the easier it is to onboard more validators.

Highlights:

Deployed the Flashbots relay & successfully landed multiple bundles on Polygon using our custom bribe contract.

The Marlin node on Polygon has received more than 175m MATIC in delegations!

mev-bor is running smoothly and the node is producing ~8% of Polygon blocks at the moment.

Added bundle heuristics to the mev-relay to add limits on bundle parameters like number of transactions in the bundle and the cumulative gas limit.

Implemented a priority queue for bundle dispatch to ensure higher value bundles are preferentially sent to validators.

Marlinstash has been updated with support for sender detection in preparation for Flowmint 2.0.

2022-02-21 18:14:33 The Flashbots relay on Polygon is live!

Bundles can be sent to https://bor.txrelay.marlin.org/.

Blocks produced by validator 106 will be following the Flashbots spec. The node produces around 8% of the blocks in the Polygon POS network.

The relay currently only accepts bundles with up to 5 transactions with a cumulative gas limit of 1M gas. These limits are expected to go up in the future as we collect more metrics regarding usage & capacity requirements.

2022-02-14 20:37:30 Exciting news for MEV extractooors, MATIC delegators and validators on Polygon

The Marlin node on Polygon has received more than 165m MATIC in delegations!

What does it mean for you?

For MEV searchers:

The node is producing ~8% of Polygon blocks at the moment. This will grow as more validators switch to the mev-bor implementation or as the Marlin node receives more MATIC delegations.

However, 8% seems to be sufficient for searchers to get started.

mev-bor is running smoothly. It has been producing blocks and been in consensus as expected. We expect mev-bor to generate substantial revenue for validators.

Highlights:

Added support for the POND/MPond token bridge to be two-way, enabling bridging from Arbitrum back to Ethereum. The UI is currently under testing and will be released once done.

POND is now fully available on MultichainOrg (previously Anyswap) with liquidity added for Ethereum, Arbitrum and BSC.

Developed a deterministic p2p network simulator to simulate incentivized peer selection algorithms.

The Bridge and Governance contract has been updated to the latest Solidity version in preparation for deployment on Arbitrum.

Binance added POND on Cross Margin.

Highlights:

The relay network switched to using the staking contracts on Arbitrum.

Operators/Delegators need to register/migrate to the Arbitrum staking portal to continue earning rewards.

Deployed token contracts on Fantom to test Anyswap integration. Other chains will be added towards the end of the month once testing finishes.

OpenWeaver now builds on ARM instances. Operators can run relays on Graviton instances now. Support in marlinctl will come soon.
