CHECKS NFT GO FROM $8 TO $4K
The NFT market has seen a resurgence in January, driven by open edition mints in which there is no cap on the number of identical artwork pieces that can be purchased. These open edition NFTs are selling for dollars, fueled by gamification techniques and FOMO over potential future rewards.
One of the buzziest NFT drops of 2023 is Checks by artist Jack Butcher, which sold over 16,000 editions for $8 each and has now increased in value to over $4,000.
Despite concerns that the open edition trend could hurt traders, some argue that people should simply buy art they like and support the creators they admire.
