Popular non-fungible token (NFT) game Stepn will block users based in mainland China to comply with regulatory policies, the company said on Friday.Billed as a “move to earn” game, Stepn lets users buy and trade NFT trainers and in-game cryptocurrency by walking or running in the real world. Players can then convert their in-game earnings to other cryptocurrencies or cash.

The game will start “checking and clearing out” users in mainland China, and will stop providing GPS and IP geolocation service to them on July 15, the company said in a statement on Twitter. Users in mainland China should make their own arrangements for their assets, it said.China’s central bank has warned that any foreign cryptocurrency exchange that provides services to Chinese citizens is engaging in illegal financial activities.

The tides are shifting in the NFT space of late. The high-value Ethereum NFT market has seen sinking trading volume the last couple weeks, but Solana NFTs are still growing—and over a 24-hour span from yesterday into this morning, the Solana network yielded more NFT volume than Ethereum’s.

Per data from CryptoSlam this morning, Solana NFT secondary market sales generated nearly $24.3 million in total during the previous 24 hours, while Ethereum sales added up to $24 million during the same span across all of the marketplaces it tracks.According to CryptoSlam, Solana NFT sales were up 436% over that 24-hour span compared to the previous window.

Earlier this month, actor Seth Green lost several non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to an apparent phishing attack.One of the stolen NFTs included a Bored Ape, which according to transaction records, was sold for $200,000 from the scammer to a user named DarkWing84.

The actor has since tried multiple attempts on Twitter at getting it back, especially as the Ape was a central character in a new show Green had been working on. Green tweeted at a Twitter user with the same handle as the buyer, "looks like you bought my stolen ape- hit me up so we can fix it." There appear to be no tweets in response from the account, which last tweeted in 2021.

Several gaming- and NFT-adjacent cryptocurrencies including The Sandbox (SAND), Axie Infinity (AXS), Decentralannd (MANA), and Gala (GALA) have suffered heavy losses in the past 24 hours.SAND, the native token of the metaverse platform, shed 9% of its value over the past day and is currently trading at $1.28 according to data from CoinMarketCap.

The token is the market’s 41st-largest with a market capitalization of $1.5 billion. Today's bearish action now puts the token down 84% from its all-time high of $8.44 recorded in November 2021.Elsewhere, AXS, the token powering the popular play-to-earn game Axie Infinity, has dropped nearly 8% over the past 24 hours.As for Decentraland's native token, MANA is also treading water, down nearly 9% over the past day.
