Hosted in a metaverse ‘land’, the event featured leadership keynotes, an expo hall, dancing on the (meta) beach and virtual fireworks. The metaverse allows people to create a 3D avatar of themselves that can attend meetings in a virtual space and interact with co-workers’ avatars – in theory, replicating the feeling of being in the same room as their peers. Synpulse’s metaverse event was hosted in the metaverse from Virbela, a virtual world platform built specifically to solve the challenges of remote collaboration.

The UK's advertising regulator has ruled against NFT promotions by Crypto.com and a project called Turtle United for failing to lay out the risks of investing in NFTs and not properly illustrating transaction fees. Contesting the ruling, which concerned its NFT marketplace, Crypto.com confirmed the ad is no longer live and argued that the company did not believe the NFTs available on its platform, which included artists’ work and sports collectibles, to be financial in nature. It said that due to the fact NFTs were excluded from recent Treasury consultation papers on crypto, it believed they would be exempt from the financial rules.

The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection captured the most sales this week but on Wednesday afternoon, the floor value tied to Cryptopunks. Once again Ethereum NFT sales dominate as the chain saw $129.99 million in NFT sales out of the $154 million seven-day aggregate.
