2022-05-18 12:54:38 The Sandbox (SAND)

The Sandbox is on a mission to bridge the gap between fashion and Web3. To achieve this goal, it partnered with The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA).

CFDA is a not-for-profit trade association founded in 1962, whose membership consists of 477 of America’s foremost womenswear, menswear, jewelry and accessory designers.

This will be CFDA’s first metaverse and NFT partnership, and will focus on offering development and educational resources. They will provide insights that will empower communities and businesses to establish new revenue streams within the Sandbox ecosystem. As Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA, puts it: “Our mission is to position our members as leaders in the global innovation of fashion and retail via digitally led strategies to support growth and expansion. With the support of The Sandbox and Polygon Studios, the CFDA is poised to educate and empower business leaders for generations to come.”

The Sandbox is a new frontier of art, identity, and expression. This partnership creates a passageway to utility and interoperability that has yet to be explored by the multi-trillion dollar fashion industry.

2022-02-19 10:12:36 Intel to launch bitcoin mining "gas pedal"

Intel said on its website, "it intends to contribute to the development of blockchain technology with a roadmap of energy-efficient gas pedals."

Argo Blockchain, Block (formerly known as Square) and bitcoin mining company GRIID Infrastructure are among the first customers.

He said he will leverage and promote an open and secure blockchain ecosystem, striving for sustainability in the development of his products. The technology will be implemented on a tiny piece of silicon to have minimal impact on the delivery of current products.

Intel also said in January that it would introduce what it called an "ultra-low-voltage, energy-efficient ASIC for bitcoin mining," dubbed the Bonanza Mine.

2022-01-08 23:55:30 Solana warned about problems with transactions

The developers of Solana reported a decrease in the performance of the beta version of the mainnet and warned users about possible errors in transaction processing.

The problem was explained by an increase in the number of "high-performance computing operations". According to the developers, because of this, the network bandwidth dropped "to several thousand" transactions per second (TPS).

The project team stressed that they are working together with ecosystem participants to correct the situation and increase the network's fault tolerance.

According to Solana Beach, at the time of writing, the throughput of the blockchain is at the level of 1500 TPS. The service also registers a large number of failed transactions.

2021-12-20 08:23:11 Indian startup raises $70 million

Indian fintech startup Uni, whose team created cards for purchasing goods and services by installment, has raised $70 million in the A-series funding round.

The project managed to get funding from General Catalyst, Eight Roads Ventures, Elevation Capital, Arbor Ventures, Lightspeed and Accel.

The Indian fintech startup's valuation, according to the publication, reached $350 million on the back of the round's completion.

Uni's developers plan to use the funds to pursue expansion plans in the South Asian market.

As part of the project, the developers have created payment cards with installment programs. With their help users can divide payment into 3 parts, which the system automatically distributes for 3 months. The goal of the startup is to attract as many people as possible to the installment market. To this end, the developers waived fees for users who pay the entire amount on time.

2021-12-13 22:51:55 The head of Binance urged not to chase "games"

Newcomers to the cryptocurrency market should first study the industry and then invest in assets. Changpeng Zhao, founder of cryptocurrency exchange Binance, expressed this opinion in an interview. The head of the crypto exchange urged newcomers not to chase "games," commenting on the hype surrounding tokens based on popular TV series like "The Squid Game."

"Especially beware of those assets whose names seem 'familiar,' such as cryptocurrencies named after famous actors or using someone else's name," Zhao said.

He also advised buying bitcoin if it is impossible to identify a particular cryptocurrency for a scam. However, if a potential buyer doesn't understand bitcoin, it's better not to invest in the industry at all.

2021-10-27 12:58:15 A protocol that allows for one-to-one exchange of steblecoins

On October 26, an OlympusDAO developer under the pseudonym Ohmzeus announced the launch of an experimental project called Range, which includes decentralized pools of stabelcoins that do not use a price curve. The programmer described Range as an "optimistic stablecoin exchange protocol" that proposes to "do away with the pricing curve entirely."

The protocol uses "range pools," which assume that both tokens in the pool have the same value. There are currently six live pools for DAI, LUSD, FRAX, USDC, USDT, and MIM, though the developer stressed that they have not been audited and users should not contribute more than they can afford to lose.

The protocol is in the debugging - bug-fixing stage. For example, Discord users noted that deposits to the USDC/USDT pool were suspended because of an error in the decimal place.
