The symmetrical bloom re-emerges from the water every morning looking as sparkling clean as the previous day, and has long represented rebirth in many cultures. The ability of the Lotus seed to germinate after hundreds, or even thousands of years makes it a powerful symbol of survival, revival and growth. And the vibrant magenta colour reflects the dynamic youthful brand.
The TypeThe letter forms were custom designed to complement the bold simplicity of the Lotus Symbol. The letters are reduced to the alphabet’s simplest forms, with subtle rounding of the top corners of the ‘p’ and ‘a’, and divided stroke s of those letters to echo the character of the Lotus symbol. In evolving the design it was felt that a ‘capital’ P was too formal and conventional, and that the final ‘lower case’ p made plian a harmonious whole as well as expressing the more positive and youthful spirit of the enterprise.
