Here's our 'Word of the Week' - Layer 2

Layer 2 refers to the multiple solutions being proposed to the blockchain scalability problem. It is a secondary framework built on an existing blockchain system. The goal is to solve the transaction speed and scaling difficulties.

Layer 2 is the name given to a scaling solution that enables high throughput of transactions while fully inheriting the security of the underlying blockchain that it is built on.
