Opera plans to add in-browser crypto wallet support for eight more blockchains in a staggered rollout across its apps and web browsers.Opera, one of the original web browsers, has been building crypto products for its about 350 million users since 2018. It released a beta version of its specialist “Crypto Browser Project” in January.

Solana, Polygon, StarkEx, Ronin, Celo, Nervos, IXO and Bitcoin will join Ethereum, the Norwegian company said. Crypto Ecosystem Lead Susie Batt told CoinDesk that Opera’s desktop crypto browser can now access Polygon and will “soon” plug into the rest. All are available on Opera for Android but there was no timeline on iOS.

In late January, tech blogger Jane Manchun Wong spotted telltale signs that OpenSea was reading support for Solana wallets. Even Tuesday, OpenSea’s web code is littered with mentions of the fast and cheap chain.

Solana (SOL), the native token of the eponymous blockchain, recently overtook Terra’s LUNA to reclaim its spot as the eighth-largest crypto token by market capitalization. The rally comes on a string on positive news that drove demand for the token through last week.

SOL, which is the most staked token in the market, jumped 21% in the last seven days, and was trading near a two-month high of $110. It currently sits at a market capitalization of $35.9 billion, having recently surpassed the $33 billion of LUNA.The move comes only about two months after LUNA had surpassed SOL in market capitalization- although a major factor in this was also because of losses in SOL.
