It has undergone months of testing on testnet, bug bounties and been audited by one of the world's best auditor - Trail of Bits.

This update makes TVM one of the most versatile virtual machines around, including the ability to create Zero-Knowledge protocols.

Multiple community teams have already built amazing services using new functionality:
Tonnel Network, Redstone, Evaa, TON Teleport, Clean.ton. There were a lot of great ideas at the TVM hackathon.

Network validators have already updated their software on November 30, and new TVM functionality is scheduled to be enabled on December 12.

Since its genesis, TON is a decentralized and self-govern blockchain. Any changes and updates in the network are only possible with the consensus of 66% of the validators.

Today we have removed the last element that could be considered as inconsistent with this principle – the configuration key.

The configuration key could be used in case of emergency to change some technical parameters of the network configuration. This key has never been able to modify of arbitrary smart contracts (e.g balance, code or account data changing). But still it was the last element, which removal was needed to achieve full decentralization of the TON blockchain.

A planned change of the Ecosystem Reserve address will be performed on Friday, November 3, 2023. This requires transferring the Ecosystem Reserve balance to the new address: EQBmzW4wYlFW0tiBgj5sP1CgSlLdYs-VpjPWM7oPYPYWQEdT.

This transfer is not a response to any security breach or compromise. It is a planned action linked to a change of the security protocol by the reserve holders and involved technical solutions. Open / Comment

2023-11-01 15:55:15 TON is officially the world’s fastest blockchain

On October 31, we proved that TON is the fastest and most scalable blockchain in the world.

During public performance testing on 256 validator nodes, a speed of 104 715 transactions of smart contract execution per second was set. CertiK, the Web3's leading auditor, participated in the event as an independent party and confirmed the results.

This number not only exceeds all confirmed results of other blockchains, but also exceeds the maximum speed of centralized payment systems such as Visa and MasterCard.

The most impressive thing is that the result is far from the limit. TON can handle millions of transactions per second if there are enough validator nodes in the network.

2023-08-24 19:02:21 Believers.ton — A community-driven effort to bring more transparent and predictable Toncoin tokenomics

As you know, the community is continuously working on systematic actions to amplify the TON tokenomics, which started with decentralized distribution through mining.

So far, the community reached multiple important milestones:

— Created a fund and reserve of more than 550M TON
— Nominators were established, bringing the number of validators to over 300 and the total stake employed in validation to over 450M TON
— Implemented a community proposal to optimize tokenomics, affecting 1.081B TON
— Launched a mechanism to burn a portion of the network fees

A new Believers.ton initiative has recently emerged in the community, allowing users to lock their Toncoins into the Believers.ton smart contract for five years, while other users can donate Toncoins, rewarding those who have locked their coins. The more coins are locked in the smart contract, the more transparent and predictable tokenomics become, which is vital for developing the network and attracting new participants.

We have audited and tested this smart contract at the community's request. The smart contract is fully autonomous and guarantees the described functionality.

This effort is an excellent example of how the TON community can organize itself. An excellent community-driven effort, where individual community members encourage and reward each other for contributing towards the greater good. This initiative has a significant potential to positively impact the future of TON, especially if large holders participate.

As proof of our deep interest in this effort and based on the results of the last community survey, the TON Foundation will support it by sending 1 million TON from the TON reserve to reward depositors.
